How it works

WR Injectables work by freezing the muscles in a specified area e.g. forehead and around the eyes. The injected liquid, when used in small doses, can paralyse or weaken muscles, giving the appearance of smoother, wrinkle reduced skin.

The purpose of Injectables

Injectable treatments have been used in the medical industry for a while to treat a range of muscle related conditions. For example, crossed eyes, eyelids spasms and neurological movement disorders. However, they have been used cosmetically to enhance natural changes of the skin and muscles over time such as: frown lines, horizontal forehead creases and lines around the eyes (crows feet).

The procedure

The liquid is first diluted in saline solution and then injected directly into the neuromuscular tissue. It can take between 24-72 hours for the treatment to take effect. In some cases, effects are not seen until after 5 days. Depending on the treatment, effects can last from 3-12 months. During the consultation please ensure you inform the doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have allergies or any medical conditions.

Side Effects

Side effects can range from person to person and some may not experience any at all. Possible side effects include:

• Numbness
• Headache
• Mild pain
• Swelling/bruising

What are Dermal Fillers?

Fillers are a synthetic form of the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. This substance is created in the body and can be found in joints, tissues and skin to retain elasticity and moisture. Dermal fillers are used to enhance the shape or volume of the lips as they can be come flatter over time.

How it Works

To enhance definition of the lips, filler is injected around the lip border. To enhance the volume of lips, filler is administered around the border and the body of the lips. The hyaluronic acid introduced into the lip absorbs water and can enhance the size, giving a fuller appearance.

The Procedure

Numbing cream is applied to the area 30 minutes prior to administering the filler. A fine needle injection is administered to the lips, which can be painful but varies between individuals.

Side Effects

Side effects can range in intensity and duration from person to person. Possible side effects include:

• Swelling
• Bleeding
• Bruising
